Stuck with UC new claim
Hello
I recently started a new claim for UC. I have got to the section called "About your Partner", but I don't have a partner and can't seem to get passed this part.
Even if I log out and then log back in, it takes me straight back to the same section again, and there is no option to 'go back' either, so don't know what to do.
Please help, thank you

When making a UC claim you should only be presented with screens asking for further information when you have already answered a question which leads to that particular part of the UC application form loading.
If you are being asked for details of a partner, it's possible that earlier in the application you answered that you lived with a partner.
I took screenshots of my UC application form as I completed it and one of the first questions was on my living situation. The question was: Which of the following describes your current living situation? which was then followed by 5 options. I chose "I do not live with a partner". Clicking on the Continue button then took me to a screen headed "Start Claim - Claim as a single person". I've checked the rest of my answers and I was never asked for any further details about a partner.
Can you recall a screen or questions similar to the above?

Thank you, I do recall something asking me about a partner, and I could of sworn that I said no, single claim….but looking at what you have sent, it seems that I have pressed the wrong option, what do I do now? So wishing I had rung up now and done it over the phone, I'm not 100% with IT and on line stuff, as you can tell 🙄

No, I can't get past the partner section. I have logged into my Universal Credit account, and it takes me straight to the 'about partner' section. There is no option to cancel, delete or start again. All it says on the top of the page is Universal Credit, To Do List and Journal, which ever one I click on, the page doesn't move, it stays on About Partner.
So annoyed with this, really wish I had phoned up now :(

Go into a jobcentre, explain where you are stuck and ask then to assist you in making your claim.

This is a screenshot from their walkthrough. It is 2 years old, so could be obsolete. But there is a hyperlink that will effectively cancel the 'partner' section.
It's in the link below, step 3. I would imagine a similar link will be available, even if the UI has been updated:

I tried that link, but it just takes me to a YouTube walk through video

All that needs to be done is to either go into Job Centre or call UC helpline to withdraw the registered claim. And then you can start the claim process again.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.1 -
That's strange, the implication of that sentence is that by clicking the hyperlink, the linking code will be cancelled (ergo the joint element of the claim).
