Parking Ticket
Hi all, hoping for some advice on whether to appeal a parking ticket to the IAS.
I paid for 180 minutes at Turner Contemporary Car Park. When we arrived the car park was busy and we had to wait around 5 minutes for a space to become free before we could park. Therefore recorded time of entry was 14:51 but ticket started at 14:56.
At the end of our stay we were delayed as our takeaway food took 40 minutes but I got back to the car in time but was unable to leave immediately as I needed to finish eating — I couldn’t eat while driving as the car I was in made that difficult. In total from ticket purchase 14:56 to recorded leaving 18:10 I overstayed 14 minutes due to being unable to drive my car.
I appealed to the parking company and was rejected. When I mentioned appealing further to the IAS they told me the discounted rate of £60 would be removed and I would owe the full £100.
My questions are:
Is the threat to remove the discount legitimate or a scare tactic?
Does the 10 minute grace period help my case?
Is my case strong enough to risk losing the discount and facing the full £100?
The parking company is Smart Parking.
Any advice appreciated, thanks!

Since you won't be paying, does it matter if you won't be paying £100 or not paying £60? Wait for the letter before/of claim and then the N1SDT claim form, where you will defeat Smart Parking.

What do you mean by:
"Risk losing the discount?"
😀
Who honestly cares about the discount bribe?! If course it's fleeting, it's part of the scam. You'll never have to pay a penny.
Nobody uses the IAS. It is a farce. Stop taking the bait and instead, ignore the £170 threatograms until you get a LBC. There are no deadlines or 'lower scam discounts' that you need to consider.
Nobody cares about it 'going up' to £170 either! Sounds like you haven't yet read the NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST thread.
