Vinted lost parcel compensation

An item I sold on Vinted was lost by Evri, using a postage label purchased from Vinted by the Buyer. The item was reported as lost to Vinted by the buyer, however 3 days later the purchase was then Cancelled on the Vinted site. Vinted have refunded the Buyer but are saying that they won't compensate me for the lost item, even though their online T&Cs say that the Seller is covered if the postage label is bought from Vinted. As the Buyer bought the label I have no contact with Evri. Vinted say as the sale was cancelled they cant do anything - although they wont explain how an item that has been reported lost can then be cancelled. Vinted have not responded to a Letter of Action sent to their Legal team, and are not part of an ADR in the UK. Their approach seems to be to just ignore in the hope I will go away. Has anyone found a way of holding Vinted to their contract terms?

I can't understand why you weren't compensated, usually once parcel is declared officially lost (which can easily take a month or more on Vinted) then buyer gets their funds released and seller gets 'compensation in their account which equals the payment they should have received.

The only time I've seen this situation is either where seller has cancelled the sale or refunded the buyer without waiting for Vinted to intervene, or where the item never showed as sent. Some people also miss the compensation part, have you checked your payment account as all my lost items show as paid in there but as 'compensation' received?

The item was reported lost, and then we waited the 30 days Vinted require before it can be logged as formally Lost. 3 days after it being logged as Lost (so effectively 33 after the sale) it was accidently Cancelled so the Buyer was compensated. However Vinted are refusing to compensate me as the Seller as they say the sale was Cancelled. I have asked them how you can Cancel an item that has been reported Lost (and accepted as lost by Evri) but they wont respond. The big issue is the postage contract is between the Buyer and Vinted/Evri - the buyer has got their money back and nobody seems to want to compensate the Seller for losing the item

I guess my question is whether there is anything I can do to make Vinted honour the Seller compensation T&Cs they publish on their website, if they just want to say the item wasnt Lost?

Not sure. Comms about the lost item were between Vinted and the Buyer - they dont seem to communicate with the Seller

you’ll need to find out how the sale was cancelled, it is possible for a seller to accidentally cancel a sale but I wouldn’t put anything past Vinted either.

And what is the situation if the sale was accidently cancelled, as it had already been reported Lost? I am struggling to see how they can have a system where a sale can be cancelled after it was lost

Once their system has a final outcome, ie cancelled, that’s it as far as Vinted are concerned. It’s exactly the same for a buyer who accidentally clicks that everything is OK with the sale, or lets it time out after 48 hours, there’s no going back from that.

They don’t have socials , they don’t interact at all virtually everything appears to be done automatically.
