After 3 months of new/ return sign ups being paused, it is good to see. applications to Flux being processed. Still not as lucrative as Intelligent Flux but I am told it’s “one step at a time towards normalization”

-  10 x 400w LG Bifacial + 6 x 550W SHARP BiFacial + 2 570W SHARP Bifacial + 5kW SolarEdge Inverter + SolarEdge Optimizers. SE London.

-  Triple aspect: ENE (2.7 kWp), WSW (3.3 kWp), SSE (2.4 kWp)

-  Viessmann 200-W on Advanced Weather Comp. (The most efficient gas boiler sold)

Feel free to DM me for help with any form of energy saving! Happy to help!

Are you tied into Flux at all? Would signing up to flux now prejudice signing up to Intelligent Flux when it becomes available (hopefully)?

No, not at all. New Intelligent Flux customers were initially onboarded to "standard" Flux first, while their battery inverters were connected to Octopus's backend systems. It eventually became a seamless onboarding process, till they paused the tariff in March this year. Let's hope it resumes soon!

I phoned Octopus last Friday and asked that exact question - there is no tie in at all with Flux and you are free to switch to another tariff at any time (including IOF should it become available again)

I switched to Flux on Saturday, but my export tariff is still showing as Octopus Outgoing (SEG - 12p). The email said it could take up to 6 weeks to switch the export tariff. Octopus are currently showing payments of 12p for export. Can anyone confirm they will backdate Flux Export rates for my export during the time it takes them to sort the export switch (otherwise I'm exporting at 12p and then importing at 25p and losing money)

They usually take a week to switch over but are extremely hesitant to back date payments.

When I shifted from Go plus Outgoing, the change can into effect for both import and export immediately, effective from the start of the day I applied.

    Thank you.

My argument would be that the two tariffs are inextricably linked, so they cannot charge Flux import rates whilst not paying Flux export rates. Their own compatibility charts show that the only export tariff available to Flux customers is Flux export.

So would you recommend I just switch to self-consumption mode for now and export excess solar (at 12p) rather than force exporting the battery at 4-7pm (potentially at 12p) and then having to pull from the grid from 7pm-6am at 25p?

I could export down to ~30% battery leaving sufficient to see me through to the morning. I think that is what I'll do for now.

Yes, that's what I would do if a quick call to Octopus does not yield the desired result. The people I help have had mixed success using your exact argument but it is definitely worth the attempt.

Yes, last year when I switched to IOF the changeover happened same day, within 24h.
