I have flights booked in Feb for Madrid... 3 nights... 4p deal + Tax through Ryanair... but dont know whether to bother going...
Dont know whether we will be bored.
What is there to do in Madrid??
Would we be better driving somewhere etc?
I cant think of anything touristy or anything like that in MAdrid!?!?

Get a guide book, you will find lots to do ... Madrid is fantastic ... and you don't have to do 'touristy' things all the time!Gone ... or have I?0

For that price you may as well go and at least you can say you've been, done and seen it!
We had 3 nights there in October Half Term and had a good time. We did the main cultural things - the Prado, Palace, Cathedral, gardens, another art gallery - sorry the name escapes me. We used the DK Eyewitness Madrid Travel Guide and followed their recommendations. We also had a trip around the Bernabeu football stadium which DH thought was fantastic. We also went to a flamenco show. (There is one there that features in the book 1000 Things to Do Before You Die. Unfortunately that one was fully booked and so we went to another.) FYI we stayed at the Room Mate Alicia - excellent location and value for money.0 -

Madrid is my favourite city!
i'll give you 3p if you don't want to go.
the Prado and Reina Sofia are 2 very good galleries. i'm not into art in the slightest but love the Prado especially - "accessible" art rather than high brow stuff many people seem to pretend to like (IMHO:rolleyes: )
great food, great nightlife, great shops.
as a member of MSE you'll be glad to know many bars give you a free tapa when you buy a drink!
for pre-bookable cheap transport from the airport try www.aerocity.com
the best resource on the net is www.madridman.com
in the unlikely event you do get bored get a train to Segovia or Toledo for the day.0 -
Just because you haven't done any research on where you are going, it doesn't mean it will be boring!.....0

Another art gallery to visit in Madrid is the Thyssen-Bornemisza. This is small enough to see in an afternoon but contains examples of art from the 12th to the 20th century.0
