Happy to hear you got it sorted.

They've not done for me either and I'll be owing them some tax. Instead I've received almost fortnightly emails about submitting quarterly accounts even though I've never declared a source of self-employment income. I think their targeting leaves a lot to be desired 😂

It could be that, without informing you, HMRC has moved you from Self Assessment to PAYE. In which case they will completely ignore your recently submitted return and in due course issue you with a revised Notice of Coding that bears no relationship with any of your submitted figures.
This is what recently happened to me. I had to phone them to be ask to be put back onto SA so that I had a reasonable current year code.
I'd advise phoning then to check what's happening.

Interesting.
I first submitted a tax return about 13 years ago when interest on savings was taxed at source. I was a non tax payer then. After they changed to interest being gross, I still had to submit until they told me not to which was a couple of years into gross interest being paid.
When interest rates started rising a few years back I got to the point where I needed to pay tax on interest so resubmitted a tax return. They processed it and gave me a tax bill. They didn't ignore it because I decided to submit it without request.

HMRC has a long standing policy of accepting voluntary tax returns on an equal footing with those received after a notice to file. Legislation was passed a few years ago to formalise that position in law. The difficulty is usually in getting access to file online (without which it is necessary to send a paper return), but the OP is already over that hurdle.
Are you saying you submitted and received a rejection?

My online SA return was not rejected, it was treated as a voluntary return and was just ignored when issuing a revised notice of coding.

If it was not rejected, what evidence do you have that it was ignored?
A notice of coding would relate to a different tax year than that of the return, since you cannot submit a tax until after the end of the tax year.
It appears that you are complaining that HMRC didn't take your tax return into consideration when it issued the notice of coding, which presumably included incorrect figures relating to that prior tax year, or omitted a tax liability you included in your return. Is it your assumption that this is deliberate, or did you ask them?
If they told you that they are ignoring it, then that constitutes a change of long standing policy that you are the first to report here. Or you've been treated unfairly. But if it is a result of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing, that is more commonplace.

It would be interesting to know if the tax code @SlimPlodder referred to was issued a few days after they submitted the tax return?
If so its highly likely it was issued as a direct result of the return.
