From what the OP has said I believe the rented spot is at the back of their property which is more convenient and I don't believe the garage has a dedicated spot in front to park.

I would suggest not many people use a garage for a car these days.

Apart from anything else, as cars seem to get get larger in every new iteration, many probably won't fit into older garages - we are limited in the size of car we can have by the size of our garage.

The reason I don't take issue with my neighbours who park their cars permanently on the Right Of Way is that they do so with consideration and respect for the other residents. Likewise, I parked my car carefully so that it didn't block anyones access or egress from the parking area. It was basically parked across the front of my own garage at the far cormner of the plot and was not in anyones way.

I have lived in these flats for over 30 years and have seen all sorts of issues arise including one resident who decided to run a second hand car business from the hardstanding behind our flats. So, I am well aware of how annoying some people can be and take care to aviod causiing anyone in my community any grief.

I just felt that in this instance my neighbour was being petty and childish. Had there been a parking space on the road I would have parked my car in it, and i moved my car onto the road as soon as a space became available, I just got the impression that this guy was determined to make a scene for the sake of making a scene and found it rather piontless and silly.

I think I'd have to do thave to leave it there for about twenty years to set a precendent not six hours. However, I did have a neighbour once who religiously mowed the grass area next to his house for twenty years and then tried to claim it belonged to him.

I'm sure you're right and I'm surprised the fascist hasn't tried complaining about that too.

The thing is that tolerance and commuinity spirit cuts both ways and if he wants to start an war over something which doesn't even affect him then I can do exactly the same in return.

I'd suggest that referring to a neighbour who has asked you to respect the terms of your leasehold as a "fascist" is hardly going to help matters.

I suspect there are other things at play here for you to drop the word "fascist" when referring to your neighbour.

The garage is too small for my car and all my overflow storage. In fact every one of the flats has it's own garage but nobody actually puts their car in one.
