Hi, I have my renewal is coming up and I need your advice please.

I was given new automatic offer of £56.50, I called Sky to cancel and offshore team offered £52.50. I said no to that rubbish offer I gave 30 days notice so the contract should end on 8th July 2026 if I don't do anything.

My current package is costing me £41.50 after £3.50 increase recently

Sky Signature

Sky Kids

Sky Cinema

Sky HD

Sky Go Extra

Ultra HD

26.50

after 8th July new price will be £56.50 with the following breakdown

Sky Signature

Sky Kids

Sky Cinema

Sky HD

Sky Go Extra

Ultra HD

30.50

On 11/06/2026 I received an email offering me Signature+Cinema for £32.50 & HD+UHD will costs additional £7.

I am planning to ditch Sky Kids are they now only watch netflix and disney+ so that should save some ££.

How shall I go about haggling with Sky? I feel that Sky's offshore team is completely useless.

They're not "useless", they're just not giving you what you want.

You say you're paying £41.50 now and they've offered £39.50 for the same package bar Kids which you don't want? Am I missing something obvious here?

I just want to clarify few things.
Price had increased from £38 to £41.50 last month then it will be jumping to £56.50 automatically if I do nothing. The offshore team only offered me £52 reduced from £56.50.

The £39 was offered via automated email after I had given my notice to leave - it has nothing to do with offshore team. And this will carry on increasing by £3-£4 every year.

In my humble opinion, even this price of £39 is rubbish because despite whatever Sky claims about the value of their product - it is hyper inflated marketing gimmick just to make their allegedly discounted price look better. And charging extra for HD which is 21 year old technology is day light robbery.

Additionally, Sky is charging new customers £24 for Sky Ultimate TV and for me it will be £32.50 as per their latest email offer. I have been Sky customer for 10+ years so my package should be discounted accordingly.
Also note that they want £7 for HD which should be free in 2026.

Just over 2 years ago when I tried to haggle for my Sky renewal they absolutely refused to budge. I put in my cancellation and it went right to the last few days with no offers and no begging messages asking me to stay. I did eventually phone them and they put me on a £15 a month basic package that let me keep the sky Q box but that’s basically all I really get . Since then I’ve had absolutely no contact from them t all, no offers nothing, I’ve got so used to not having hundreds of channels that I don’t think I’d bother going back now .

Sky have always had April price increases so that can't come as a surprise, and it's £7 for HD & UHD (you didn't give a breakdown), not that I disagree about paying for HD.

The £24 quoted will be for new customers on Stream and may be a loss leader for Sky to attract new customers, they're not obliged to offer it to existing customers. You may think that your package should be discounted accordingly for being with them for 10 years but Sky obviously disagree. I've got 18 years with their TV

If you don't want to pay it then let the cancellation go through, get Virgin or whoever and come back in 2 years time as a new customer.

Thanks for your response - I will also consider the option to leave and re join later.

I am aware of annual price rise - the point I wanted to illustrate is the need to get lowest possible starting price so that you don't end up at much higher price within few months.

£24 is for new Sky Q customers.

What I am asking here is advise from people who had similar experience and how they haggled with Sky to get a sensible offer

Are you sure Sky offer Sky Q to new customers?

I thought only current Q subscribers can have a Q as all new customers have to have stream or Glass but I am sure someone will be along shortly to correct me if I am wrong

You can still order Sky Q, but you have to phone for it - no online ordering is possible.

From https://www.sky.com/tv/sky-q under "When might I be better off with Sky Q?" it says:

"Although Sky Stream allows you to watch the shows you love over WiFi, there may be times when Sky Q works better for you, including:

    - You don't have access to the internet
    - Your internet speeds falls below the suggested minimum speed
    - High bandwidth usage from other devices on your network
    - Your home setup limits the capabilities (e.g. thick concrete walls or interference)

If you think Sky Q is the right option for you, then please call us on 03337595262, where we'll be happy to help you make the right choice."

There isn't any advertised price for Sky Q for new customers as far as I can see.

Thats why I couldn't understand the OP saying Sky are charging new customers £24 for Sky Q as I can't see it but then the OP maybe on about something else like stream.

That £24 is for Stream, people on the Sky forums quote it constantly on the Q section or accounts but it's not comparable.

The only place I can find a 'standard' price for Signature on Sky Q is in the terms and conditions document.

    https://static.skyassets.com/contentstack/assets/blt7f2b03fd02c7fe60/bltb95953b846be860a/69cc1e85267d5e3aef79e815/download?disposition=inline

On page 38 it says Signature basic pack only costs £37.50 per month, as of April 2026.

That doesn't correspond with my recent bills, which show signature (on Sky Q) as £42.50 per month, currently discounted down to £24.50 per month until mid Autumn.
