What did they do on the 2024 service before you got it? I have a 2018 Peugeot with the same type of engine and they changed the wet belt on the six year service, so they must have known that the correct interval was 6 years back then. Even if they didn't, why wasn't it done on the 2025 or 2026 service if they knew it hadn't been done previously.

After the wetbelt was changed on my car in 2024, mine has been drinking oil. Prior to that, I'd top it up maybe once a year, since then it has been needing about a litre a month.

As with so many modern engines, the issues are around vastly over-extended servicing times, with using the right oil critical. Rings getting gummed up are far from uncommon on a lot of engines - especially where the engine's never or rarely given any welly, just pootled about.

If you'd taken it to a competent garage, they'd have told you about the change in the belt interval, and strongly recommended it be changed. It's not a big job - 2.5hrs or so.

You have an 8yo car. You've owned it a year, and you've DIY serviced it.
There is no way in the world ANY manufacturer would provide you goodwill in those circumstances.

What exactly does 'serviced in March by us' mean?

The OP says in the first post that it was serviced by the garage. Presumably serviced by us means that the OP got a garage to service it at the OPs request and the OP paid for it, as opposed to the dealer or previous owner servicing it. There was no mention of a DIY service.
