Trading 212 Verification Nightmare

Having received the Chip email about the interest rate plummeting on my Cash ISA I opened a Trading 212 account. It required verification with a driving license and video of my face. It couldn't auto verify me so manual verification was needed. Some hours later I received an email to say I was now verified on their system and could log in and add funds.

I logged in and had to add my bank account - and was required to provide a face video again. I did this and was told they will let me know in due course.

I tried using the app rather than the website, and had to do the whole verification thing again. I've done it around four times now and still can't add funds to the account. There is no way to talk to anyone at Trading 212, so I filled in a form on the website to ask what's going on.

This is painful! Does it happen often with Trading 212? I just want a flexible Instant cash ISA where I can access my funds immediately should I need to, with no penalties for any number of withdrawals. Does anyone have other suggestions?

I’m afraid once you got stuck with the verification, you can’t do anything but wait for customer service to review/release it.

I do agree it is annoying. We have 2 ISA’s with them and it’s an absolute nightmare if you tend to keep the browser clear from cookies/tracking. You’ll have to do the 2-step login + face video stupidity every single time you access the account. First you’ll have to log in on the phone just to authorise access for the browser, then you’ll do the face video, but it won’t stick the next time you log in on the same computer/device… They don’t save it on their end.

Gave up with my wife's 212 account. Just didn't like the quality of the video on her older Honor 8S phone.

Trading 212 Customer Service sorted it for me and I had to go to settings/security in my phone app to select 'Trust this device'. Once that was done I was able to log in several times without further ado.
