Or just move the current investment - probably simpler and might not cost anything to switch to one global vs maintaining several separate funds.

My shares are in a SIPP, so I think that means I get zero perks.

@InvesterJones - no time frame or goals really, just to keep investing any “spare money” I have left over.
@chiang_mai - I have invested in some FTSE stocks that pay dividends, Lloyds, M&G, Tesco, L&G, Taylor Wimpey, PHP and PMI.1 -
I'm OK with the idea of investing "spare money" into things that appeal but others here may be less so. At some point, you'll need a plan and everything else that goes along with it. In the meantime, continuing with your present theme, here's some ideas you may wish to consider:
I like M&G Japan and also Lazards Emerging Markets and have had some good sucess with both this past year. Diversification away from the US would seem very sensible so if you don't care for Japan and the UK's not suitable, perhaps consider Europe….Artemis Smartgarp European Equity is excellent. Re. UK: one of my long term buy and hold funds is the HSBC FTSE All Share, which is 600 companies comprising 98% of the UK market, it wont shoot the lights out but it's returned 19% this past year…..what it might do in subsequent years is another story! Good luck.

Then before even thinking about what to invest in I'd have a think about goals and time frames - unless by spare money you mean it's basically for fun and it'll never be used for retirement etc. Even if it's just for fun it's helpful to have an idea of when you want to see a return by as that helps indicate what volatility/trends you'd be happy with.

Mine is in HL SIPP - vouchers come in the post via HL.

Agreed!
But there are some Investment Trusts like Murray International that avoid them. I've some of that in my income portfolio which avoids the mega caps, no Friday blip for me in that tranche. But of course I still hold about 30% of my funds in FTSE Global All Cap - so I actually can't avoid them either.

The trouble with 'discounted' stocks is that you know whether they actually (were) long after considering to purchase. Now, where is that crystal ball……………?

There are lots of ways to look for funds and to assess their contents, Morningstar however remains my mainstay for this purpose because all the information is in one place. I also find Citywire (CW) extremly useful, if I want to understand a funds relative performance, standard deviation and drawdown. CW is also a very useful reference if you want to understand Fund Manager performance and a useful tool to help seek out the best FM's.

Indeed, and I have held a % in this for some years, Artemis Global Income is another.
