Cleaning floors

I'm new to a small one bed flat with hard floors in bathroom hall and lounge diner. Carpet In bedroom

I just want to know how to clean the floors?

What products /devices do I need,? And how often to clean?

Depends how dirty you are ………

I presume you’ve heard of hoovers? As to the flooring, posh Lino, laminate wood, something else?

Are you cleaning the floors while on an overseas holiday, or have you posted on the wrong board?

(in any event, you'll need to clarify what sort of "hard" material the floors are made of).

For carpets, a vacuum cleaner. A small cordless one will do the job if there's not a large area to tackle.

Hard floors - what do you mean? For ordinary tiles/lino, you can't beat a cheap and cheerful mop & bucket. Hot water and a splash of Flash liquid (well, I always use Lidl own-brand equivalent, it does the job perfectly).

For laminate/wood flooring you want to be a bit more careful. Getting it slightly damp won't hurt - and the old mop & bucket can be used for this as long as you're careful. But you don't want to get it too wet, otherwise it'll warp. Depending on how many muddy pets and/or children you have, you'll likely get away with sweeping it with a soft broom regularly, and just use a damp cloth to get off any coffee spills or whatever, as and when they occur.

For wooden/laminate and tiles method floor cleaner, especially if you have pets as it won't affect them and a spray mop with washable pads.

How dirty is it? More than a mop would handle? If it's minging a scrubbing brush if it's lino maybe. We need more info IMHO.

I don’t think it is dirty. From another thread the OP called it a premium property, so I think they’re considering the best way to keep it clean moving forwards.

ok so the hard floors i believe are a modern version of laminate, i'll have to double check. i am very clean just like to know in my head like do this once a week to know the whole place is clean.

a small wireless vacuum would be suitable for the carpet I think.
