Gatwick - Times Parking

Hi all, apologies if this is not in the right place. The internet/forums etc are not my forte!

I’ve received the attached letter from Times Parking trading as Times24 UK Limited regarding a missed drop off charge at Gatwick Airport.

I forgot to pay but the ‘parking charge to keeper’ has been addressed to my partner and not me (I was driving, my mistake for not paying)

Given its on private land and issued by a private company, do I need to pay or can anyone assist with how to appeal?

if it makes a difference, I was stopped for less than 3 mins and £60 seems grossly unfair!

Thanks in advance

Use the standard appeal to be found in the Gatwick/Heathrow group thread.

Make sure that appeal goes under your partner’s name (as the vehicle’s registered keeper). You, as the driver, mustn’t get involved in this. The Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 protects your partner (and is the winning appeal point), it provides you (as the driver) with no protection.

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Hi all,

Thank you for your swift replies. When you say change the POPLA part, does this work?

This is an appeal by the registered keeper - No driver details will be given. Please do not bother with your known fishing expedition in an attempt to get driver details to try and get around the fact there is no keeper liability (and never can be under POFA).

Due to this being airport land you will be well aware there is no keeper liability due to the byelaws in force and the fact this is not relevant land.

As there is no keeper liability then liability cannot flow from the driver to the keeper and thus is an auto win

IPC AOS. Please therefore cancel the notice or issue a IPC AOS code where you will auto withdraw.

If you waste your time asking for driver details this will be ignored and you will still lose at IPC AOS if you don't cancel the PCN.

So let's save my time and yours and cancel this PCN you simply cannot win this (and you know it).

    Again, thank you in advance.

Thank you again. When is says Applicant details, I assume my partners address and name are fine given they have them already due to posting the letter? and the reason for appeal, do I choose 'other'?

The keeper appeals as keeper, no blabbing about who was driving or about what happened

The driver sits on their hands and does nothing at all !

Other seems ok to me, gives nothing away
