HSBC ISA transfer unacceptable service

I had my complaint looked at quite quickly (compared to many on here), got some compensation which easily covered the funds which were 'missing' for 8 days.
It should never have got to this point as I visited my local branch 3 times but as I say I was fortunate.

Submitted transfer request mid-April, transfer from Gatehouse to HSBC. Funds were available at Gatehouse May 7. Credited to HSBC account June 9. When I visited HSBC branch on June 4, I was told they are in holding account. Previously visited a branch on May 9 and was reassured the form will be received and the interest will be backdated.
