New flat cooking options

Renting a high end flat for 6 months

It comes with electric oven and hob

Im wondering should I use these , one or both?

Or just buy a microwave, perhaps with a convection oven.

So that when I move out its all clean ?

Any thoughts?

I will mostly just cooking beef ie burgers meatballs minced beef , cook in oven or pan with butter

I also boil green veg and Carrots but can use steam bags in microwave

Maybe also potatoes and chips.and rice again can use rice pouches or boil in bags

I can’t see you’re going get it so grubby in six months that it’s going to be impossible to get clean.

if it were me, I’d carry on cooking the same way that I always do.

Well a microwave is always handy and portable enough to take with you. Assuming you will be able to use it in your next place. Of course you can always leave it behind or donate it to a charity.

But if you have the ££ to rent a high end flat then I suspect you have enough to get someone in to clean the kitchen for you too. Or be willing to lose a bit of your deposit.

I don't want to assume, so can you clarify whether you clean these things at all, and if you do, how often?

If you don't clean these things, then probably get yourself a microwave, or better hire a cleaner?

I have to say, burgers in a pan with butter is one thing that's going to make the kitchen very greasy and dirty.

I hate cleaning, especially cleaning ovens. I hire someone to do it for me, once a year; 60 quid and it looks like new, money well spent. But maybe what OP needs for their type of cooking isn’t an oven but an air fryer …

Air fryer and microwave will do what you want - however if you wipe out your oven after each use (you're going to need to do that with an air fryer anyway) it won't get dirty. and you really should clean the hob after each use then it doesn't become a problem

Thanks if cooked in a tray the burgers in the oven don't appear to make any mess just some fat collects in the tray and then dries out . I hear this is safe to leave and doesn't need cleaning so can re use with fat dried on the tray?,

Gosh; I wouldn't reuse fat left in a tray. It's quite straightforward to clean with washing up liquid and very hot water - I often boil a kettle to pour over it initially and then leave it to soak in the sink.

I wouldn't reuse a tray that had old fat on it either - it gets rancid, and eventually bakes on hard. I dispose of liquid fat by mixing it with some cheap supermarket own brand flour to soak it up, then dis[posing of this in the bin. For solid fat I scrape it off the tray with a spatula and put it into an empty jam jar (or similar) with a screw top. When full, I put that in the bin.

If you are very worried about making the oven dirty in a high end flat, you could eat out for six months. Or have salads, it's summer after all.
