How to switch to Plusnet when their broadband checker is down?
We've had bad experiences with Vodaphone over the last year or two so we're looking to change and the best options appear to be Plusnet or Virgin.
We prefer Plusnet but their broadband checker is down. there's a banner saying "We’re fixing our broadband checker. We’ll be back up and running as quick as we can. Browse the rest of our site and pop back here soon."
But it's been like that for days. I was able to use it briefly a week or so ago but now it's down again.
Should I give up on Plusnet? I'd rather not as our neighbours are on virgin so if I do the same we can't share each others connection if we all on the same provider and it goes down, as Vodafone did a while ago.

Wait or go elsewhere, entirely your choice.

Have you tried phoning Plusnet? Their CS staff might be able to sign you up even if their website won't.

What the problem ? , Plusnet use Openreach so if their checker isn’t working , try use a competitor that also uses Openreach , its the same network, if you already have Vodafone over Openreach then the speed you get from PN will be to all intents and purposes the exactly same … why would it be different if Openreach provide the network.
VM is completely different network .
I’ve seen a post recently on another site saying the BT Wholesale website on which all providers using Openreach base their speed estimates is suffering issues so that may be causing issues, but unless it’s stopping you actually placing an order, it’s irrelevant.
If you currently use Vodafone over Openreach’s network then the speed VF said you would get however long ago you took VF services is approximately the same you will get with PN so the lack of a checker return makes no real difference.
If Openreach FTTP is available,( rather than FTTC ) you get the speed you buy so the checker becomes irrelevant anyway as there is no distance related reduction on FTTP as there is on FTTC , you get the speed you ask for .

Ah, now I know why the BT Wholesale website wasn't working earlier.
As part of the sign up process for various (all?) ISP's you usually have to go through their web checkers to make sure they're able to supply it, I'd guess that's why they can't sign up.

So when it did work did it say you could have the Plusnet product you would like?
If yes then just place on order.
