Help understanding about transferring my ISA
I feel like a bit of a dummy but I thought I had my head around understanding ISA's it but clearly I don't hence the post! I opened an ISA in Feb 2024 and transferred £20k. For the life of me I can't remember how long I had invested this ISA. I've tried looking through the emails to try and confirm this without any luck. Obviously over the period of time that my money has been invested it has made some interest. #1 How do I find out how long I had invested my money? #2 How do I transfer the money into another ISA - I understand that you get the your new provider to do this or something so you don't get charged? #3 Obviously as its over the £20K threashold would a new provider only transfer £20k of my money and what would happen to the cash left sitting in the pot of my original provider?

You can transfer ANY amount (capital and interest) as long as the new provider has no limits, nothing gets left behind.
As for how long the product life was, you'll have to ask the company you invested with or dig out your documentation and emails.
Also, do some reading on the ISAs section of the forum, this has been asked and answered numerous times.0 -
Do you have online access to the provider of your ISA?
The history/details of the product would usually be available there.

What kind of ISA is this (cash/stocks and shares)?
Provider (bank/building society/platform)?

As suggested a good read through the ISA forum will improve your understanding.

#1 have a look at your statements by logging on to your account or if worse comes to worse give them a call and they will tell you
#2 to transfer the ISA to another provider simply apply for the ISA with the other provider and say you want to transfer everything and close the account with the old provider
#3 as mentioned by others when you come to transfer you can transfer any amount you want the 20K refers to new money you can invest each year
