Well I assume it was S75 and chargeback, what other purchase protection would there be?

So, just.to summarise so we all know what's going on:

• You take a £7k money transfer into your bank, pay the 2.9% fee and get 22 months 0% finance.
• You next buy something for £7k on your credit card, at Barclaycard's standard APR. You get chargeback and S75 protection on the purchase.
• After Barclaycard issue your monthly statement you then use the £7k from your bank to pay off the purchase leaving you owing £7k at 0%

It's a bit convoluted but it sounds like it should work. Check that Barclaycard will assign payments to the purchase in preference to the money transfer (they probably will but you don't want to be surprised).

An alternative would be to take out a separate credit card with 0% for purchases. This would save you the ~£200 money transfer fee. Have you looked into this option at all?
