Virgin Broadband and O2
We have just signed up to Virgin broadband in my name. My wife has an O2 account in her name and we want to link them both for Volt benefits.
I just seemingly went through the steps it was saying to link the o2 account to my virgin media one but right near the end it said do i want to go ahead and transfer the virgin media account to my wife's email address??
Is it not the case that I can link her o2 account to my email rather than having to transfer it the other way around?

Why does it matter? Suspect that the details of the broadband contract (including you as the contract holder) are unaffected - you are just changing the email address for contact purposes.
Changing the email account linked to a mobile phone number is rather more involved, there are security concerns around SIM swap fraud because a mobile number is often the channel for OTP codes at banks etc.
Such a change should be difficult, preferably involving photo id and a visit to an O2 retail store.
If it's going to be a problem, have you considered swapping your mobile to O2? Can get 40GB for £8/mth on deals at the moment.

Thanks for the reply.
I guess it's just a bit frustrating when it is described as 'linking' an o2 account to an existing virgin media account when in this case it's actually transferring it from one to the other

I don't think you need to link the accounts, just the fact that both the VM and the O2 account are connected to the same address should mean that Volt benefits are automatically applied within 14 days.

In my household the VM broadband is in my name, but my OH has an O2 sim - we each have separate VMO2 accounts, but the Volt benefits work ok.
Of course if you want them both on the same VM02 account I guess that's ok, but it's not necessary.0
