Octopus Intelligent Flux works well in the summer months when you're exporting more than importing but fails in winter when you only get 3 hours of not very cheap electricity overnight to fill the (Powerwall?) battery.

Previous posts usually fail to point out that you will need to switch tariffs every spring and autumn to get the best return.

And the problem then becomes if you can't switch back in spring because someone has started a war somewhere.

IOF sign-ups have been "temporarily closed" for the last three months, I think?

There is no overnight cheap rate slot on IOF - just day rate and peak rate 4pm-7pm.

It is at best a net exporters tariff. One could stay on it all year round if you have low winter usage but it's best suited as a summer (exporters) tariff were net export can average 25-26p per kWh, substantially beating SEG rates.
