According to Octopus - I have £50 per item - early exit fees on my account

This is not true - I have an email from Octopus when I signed up to 12M FIXED - 12 months ago - saying "NO EXIT FEES"

What bothers me is why they believe that this is the case and the fact that it has stopped me from changing suppliers to fuse already !

I'm just finishing fixed with Octopus it had no early exit fees but if I refix with them it will have early exit fees.

Have you renewed with them by accident?

No I haven't - I was planning on renewing now though - but not any longer

Yes - but I have an email from them - which prevented me from changing suppliers to a cheaper tariff - because they told me that if I changed it would cost me £100 combined - that cheaper tariff has now been withdrawn !

Regarding your question about matching prices from Fuse Energy, we do not price match with other companies. We aim to keep our prices fair and consistent for all our customers.
Just to give you an idea, here are the details of your current tariffs:
    Gas - Octopus 12M Fixed
    Unit charge: 6.72p/kWh
    Standing charge: 28.42p/day
    Early exit fee: £50.00
    Electricity - Octopus 12M Fixed
    Unit charge: 23.96p/kWh
    Standing charge: 44.35p/day
    Early exit fee: £50.00
Prices include VAT and any applicable EPG discounts.
While we would be sad to see you go, please note that your current tariffs do have an early exit fee of £50 per fuel if you decide to switch before the contract ends.

Can you view any of your previous bills online?
If so, each monthly bill will show you what exit fees were in place.

Check back to the bill which covers the month when you switched and see if the exit fees have been there from the start. If so, then I suspect you will struggle to get Octopus to cancel them.

Are those your unit rates / SC / exit fees - or the current unit rates for the same tariff if you renew today ?

Its difficult to tell from the wording - but they could be quoting you todays figures not your old - actually their current numbers if renewed today - to make it easier for you to compare directly with Fuse offer - as you must have I guess mentioned them as the alternative.
