PCN-Entering and Stopping At Box Junction When prohibited
Hello everyone,
As mentioned in the subject, I received a PCN on Friday, 15th May. The contravention occurred when a vehicle was making a turn from another road and performing a three-point turn, cutting into my lane. This situation caused me to stop in a box junction behind another vehicle. My vehicle was stationary for approximately 10 seconds before I cautiously moved out of the restricted area.
While I acknowledge that I could have been more attentive to the road and aware of what was happening ahead, I am exploring whether there are any points I could include in my appeal to strengthen my case. I am aware that I had enough space in front of me to creep forward, which would have allowed my vehicle to be completely out of the box. However, I was not aware that I was in a box junction at the time.
I would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions.
Thank you!

I strongly suggest that you post your query over on the FTLA parking forum website after reading their posting requirements first

Bang to rights sadly. Always creep forward (or into a other lane if there is one).

Picture tells nothing.
The rule is you must not enter until your exit is clear. If you entered when your exit was clear and the exit was subsequently blocked that's a defence. However for that you need to see the video of the whole incident.

Isn't the rule (with certain exceptions) that you mustn't enter the box unless exit is clear. In the photo looks like the exit was clear, just the OP misjudged it.

This statement worries me
However, I was not aware that I was in a box junction at the time.

Looks like you've been got.
Free traffic legal advice is the place for this sort of stuff.- is there any moving image footage, two or more photos taken a set time apart or just the one photo?
What you should have done is continued to move forward and even though its not common sense you should have pulled to the right of the vehicle in front of you even if it meant being the wrong side of the road.
Camera enforcement means that you need to think illogically, if there is a fire engine, ambulance, or even police behind you, and you are stopped at traffic lights, never cross the stop line to let them pass - wait - even if they have flashing lights and sirens going, likewise never pull into bus lane to let them pass.
If your car has a mechanical issue and has to stop, dont pull into a car park if you can to get out of the way, just sit there and block the main carriageway holding up all the traffic

Thanks for the input everyone,
I have uploaded the PCN letter, hopefully it'll give you all some clarification of the contravention..
Upon viewing the footage further, the vehicle was coming out of a parking bay performing a U-turn which resulted in the car Infront of me performing a stop.
I have a written a draft appeal and was wondering if i can get some feedback, any suggestions would be helpful:
Version 1:
I am formally challenging the above Penalty Charge Notice.
When I entered the box junction, there was clear space ahead of both my vehicle and the vehicle in front. I entered in good faith expecting to clear the junction without stopping. A vehicle then suddenly pulled out from a parking bay and performed a U-turn (or unexpected manoeuvre), causing the vehicle directly ahead of me to stop abruptly. I was forced to brake suddenly as a result.
Importantly, even after this abrupt stop, there remained sufficient clearance ahead of my vehicle to allow me to completely exit the box junction. The CCTV footage will confirm this.
Additionally, the yellow box markings at this location are faded and worn, making them much less visible at night. This poor maintenance contributed to the situation.
Version 2:
I am challenging this Penalty Charge Notice because the alleged contravention did not occur.
When I entered the box junction, there was clear space ahead of both my vehicle and the vehicle in front. I entered lawfully, expecting to clear the junction.
The CCTV footage will confirm this gap existed.
Additionally, CCTV footage from an elevated camera angle does not accurately reflect what a driver sees on the road. The camera perspective (often wide-angle or from height) can make restricted areas and markings appear more obvious and prominent than they are to a driver at ground level in real-time conditions.

You need to take that appeal to FTLA as advised, this forum does not deal with these issues:
