Depends on the area but we’re quite rural and Facebook Marketplace cars (the genuine ones) are definitely a higher price and people will pay that for something that’s local, they can come and see it and don’t have to traipse halfway across the country for. AT seems to be a race to the bottom right now, I don’t know how dealers survive.

DOV is unusual. These days it’s usually DOC (other cars). We’ve seen people caught out when driving a van.

Being unwilling to meet at your premises is an immediate red flag to buyers, indeed checking the address matches the V5 is one of the basic checks people are told to do.

Almost certainly your car insurance won't cover theft by deception and certainly a while back there were a spate of thefts where, for example, two people turn up to look at the car, they ask you to pop the hood so they can see the engine running, as you get out with the key in the ignition and walk to the front with one the other jumps in the car and drives off with it and other legs it… just make sure the key is never out of your possession unless you are in the car (this predated keyless options so dont know the updated advice).

If they do drive it make sure you know they have insurance… you will be personally liable for any accident if you allow them to drive it when they dont have insurance.
