Yes, I have a Government Gateway login but as it's to be replaced by the One login I was trying to get ahead of the game and create one. It appeared to go through the process using the email address to communicate and even supplied a new User ID, but is now denying I exist.

Seem to remember when I did this I used a different email address, not difficult if you are using a password manager to keep track of different logins for differing services.

That's a smashing straw-man you're building there.

At this point, this scheme reminds me of a labouring mountain. I'll reserve judgment till I've seen it in practice, but the core scheme (from the published documents) looks no different from my design expectation - but it has taken a very long time to get to a beta test - given the technical resources have been tried and tested over at least three decades.

Like others, I suspect part of the delay is that there is little or no perceived financial benefit to the participant coroporations.

You seem greatly invested in it, but it's not something I can get excited about, but hopefully it will prove beneficial to people over the longer term.
