Endoscope Camera

Wondering about buying one of these to help see into confined spaces - mainly dry ones, like under and behind kitchen units, under floorboards etc. Places where I can't get my camera in to take pictures or record video.

Anyone found good ones that will work with a Moto Android mobile phone (a bit old now) or the latest ipad? Thanks.

I can't give any advice on a good device.

I did buy a cheapo one from an online marketplace and found that, although stated as compatible with Android, the camera on my old Moto did not have some functionality that would allow it to work with the device purchased. I processed a return but the seller did not ask for the item back and just refunded the money.

My brother was able to make the device work with his iPhone.

I have an Inskam Endoscope model HD 1200P.

I have used it a few times with good success.

It has an inbuilt light and transmits on wifi. I linked it to the ipad easily.

I used it on an outboard engine to examine the cylinder through the spark plug hole with excellent results.

Have had it a few years now and was cheap when purchased. Just looked on Amazon and they are now approx £15

Tried a couple, mainly cheapo ones, results were generally very poor… connecting it was fine, got a stable image etc but image was just about acceptable in perfect conditions and unusable in most cases. All had a light, all were ok if they were hanging in free space but if they were close to a surface (parallel or perpendicular) they often blinded themselves with their own light plus most had a focal point rather far away so would also be blinded by dust bunnies and minor crud.

My use case at the time was trying to look in our ceiling void and the gaps in our dot & dab walls. I ended up sending them all back and borrowed a friend's professional one which was much better but cost vastly more than I would be willing to pay

I bought one on Allexpress a while back; I haven't tried it yet, but it was cheap!

Depends on where they shove it…

If you want real tears, try a catheter 😪 Especially when you get a student nurse yanking the darned thing out.

You can't beat the removal of a three way catheter after a TURBT. That's a big tube to be in such a small hole

I've had them everywhere, including where the catheter goes. The camera's not so bad, it's the flippin' tripod that hurts.😉
