Debt recovery plus

I have received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus regarding an APCOA parking charge for the Luton Airport drop-off zone.

I was on holiday, so I only read the letter after the deadline had already passed.

My question is: can I still appeal and avoid paying? I did not receive the original notice informing me about the parking charge, so I was unable to appeal on time because I was not aware of it and did not have the notice number.

Could you please advise me on what I should do? Should I first ask APCOA for the original documentation? On their website, when I enter my charge notice number and registration, it says that I can no longer appeal, and the website does not allow me to submit one. Or better option is to appeal straight now on some email? Do you have email where to appeal? As on my letter I have only debt recovery plus details for contact.

They have given it to DRP you cannot appeal, APCOA are only interested in money nothing else and DRP are just bullying idiots that make up lies.

The airport is not relevant land for the purpose of the PoFA anyway so as long as the driver isn't identified APCOA are stuffed, they will give up eventually they don't like court, and DRP are powerless and can be ignored. In short apart from threatening letters nothing will happen.

"I did not receive the original notice informing me about the parking charge,"

Do nothing except check the registered address of your vehicle on your V5C because an old address is the usual reason for not getting a PCN, then some scummy debt crawler chasing you!

The only action needed is to put that right with the DVLA, if that was the issue.

    Do nothing else.

Nothing happens but you MUST update the debt crawlers & APCOA if you move house. Open all letters just to be sure it's only laughable debt demands from DR Plus, Trace, etc.

Obviously, you just totally ignore DR Plus - DO NOT RING THEM - but you should already know that, from when you read NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST and saw the £170 threatogram pictures in post 4 of it.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Hi,

I Have check and my V5C has correct address. That V5C i received in 2024 and I did not change address since then.

Adress is definatelly correct as this year I received speed ticket so DVLA has correct address.

Do I completely ignore letter? Are they able to get some record on my credit score?

Ignore the powerless debt collectors letters, they cannot do anything and cannot alter your credit file either

Relax, Put their letters in a spare drawer, read post 4 in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum

No for a start you don't have a proven debt, only a speculative invoice and DRP are just a bunch of chancers that can't do diddly squat.

I have three letters from them and their alter ego Zenith, from 2012 threatening Armageddon I am still waiting!

"Are they able to get some record on my credit score?"

Yes if they file a small claim and you fail to defend (which won't happen, will it!). Any company or person can file a claim but APCOA never have.

Like I said, obviously open all letters, to be sure that doesn't change.
