    I had no luck either.
I took a print out of the order and ref number and also email confirmation.
The manageress phoned up customer support and she would`nt budge from "it was a pricing error".
  • I have just been to the Stockport Argos and walked away with 2 webcams for the princely sum of £4.99 !

I reserved this morn for store pick up. I handed over my print outs for collection and she typed in the number and said "2 webcams at £14.99 each". I produced 2 printouts clearly stating 2 for £4.99 and she claimed that "this can't be right". I politely pointed out that the website clearly advertised this at £4.99 for 2.

She spoke to her supervisor who checked something out on the pc, who duly confirmed it was some sort of "!!!! up" and not my fault and he was happy for me to have them ! They both agreed I had bagged myself a bargain !

Big Thanks to the original poster !

got home, read my email to say it was out of stock and they have not taken a payment off my credit card. (well I guess I ought to be grateful they didnt charge me)

well done to all those who managed to bag a bargain. :T

having said that the attitude I had from the manager when I tried to collect them last time, was either I must of forged the order or it was my fault I had ordered them incorrectly . She then went on to quote the wrong price anyway (it was a 2 for one offer in store she insisted it was £29.88 for one pack contaning two).

What annoys me was there was no hint of an apology that I had taken the time and trouble to place an order and gone to the shop with all the valid paperwork. At least a sorry there was a pricing error would have been a lot more appropriate.

I also think there is stock avaiable just they are using this as an excuse until they get the correct price set.

It clearly says once you've placed your order

Please note that these items have not yet been paid for. Prices may change on a daily basis due to special offers. The price you pay is the price in store on the day you collect. Please take your reservation number to the store.

I was one of the lucky ones - took a bit of a wait but the manager eventually didn't think it was losing a customer for life for the sake of a tenner ! Mind you I was very motherly to him.... and quoted the fact I also shop at comet online who let you reserve at the online price and pick up instore.. said he should pass that back up to mamagement as I think they will lose goodwill...
Anyway the cameras are OK - just basic - no mike and do the job. If I decide it's the way to go I would probably spend on better ones - but it was worth £2.50 to find out. You never know I might go back to that nice 'boy' at Argos.

Considering the fact that this happened not so long ago - they knew about it then, took them ages to fix it on the website but they did eventually do so - and yet it is now happening again - makes you wonder how they can in all honesty kick up so much of a fuss when people try to take them up on it!! And it seems very unfair that some people are getting them (with or without an argument) and others are walking away with a flea in their ear. Ho hum.

I also reserved the cams. But when i gave reservation number he said £14.99 each. I explained that it stated £4.99 for 2 online. also that i have email stating this too.. he then said bring print of email into store and should be ok then. so i will try that. He also reserved them for another week.

Has anyone got a screen shot of this.. i think this may help too

I've had another look at the website to try to get a screenshot, but they look like they've fixed it again.

I do have a screenshot, but it has a specific order number on it (which has now lapsed) - I can send it if you want?
