2 Web Cams For £4.99 + p&p

When I got mine last time, from the Teesside Retail Park, the manager chap who put them through for me gave me the impression they were more likely to do it if you only bought one pair - he said they'd had someone in earlier who wanted 2 pair but that he left empty-handed. When I asked why, they said it was because they didn't have enough stock for him, but that doesn't seem right to me - he must have reserved them in the first place to know about the £4.99 thing.

Would it work if you used their "quickpay" machines rather than going to an actual checkout?

I think I would be too emabarassed to argue if they noticed the price.

Just managed to order a pair for £4.99 store pick up. I will post my results later on. Great find if this works !!!

Anic, when I bought mine the other week the 'quickpay' machine showed the 'real' price.

I took up the matter with the lady on the till which eventually ended up with her asking the manager to see me.

There wasn't any problem once I showed him the confirmation email that I'd had.

Like all these pricing mistakes that Argos make, it will depend on the store as to whether they will honour the price.

I have just reserved 2 at the Arbroath store. The price is £4.99 but didn't have a delivery option. Will collect them this afternoon and report back on the result.

First of all, first post, long time reader - fantastic site!

I ordered two of these webcams at Newcastle branch for £4.99 - didn't think I'd get them, but I did! Huzzah! The lady behind the till was lovely, and I flirted with her, told her I'd come from 40 miles away and that the cameras were a present for my parents for when I move away to uni!

Which to be fair, wasn't a lie!

I also went as early as possible - figured less likely to have people already in asking for the cameras. Be polite, be flirtatious, it works!
