Flight Cancellation Compensation when departing earlier than scheduled.
We had our return flight from Delhi to London cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, BA offered no alternative return flights and no support.
We rebooked the only flight available which actually left nearly 6 hours before our scheduled flight and was routed through Dubai rather than being direct.
BA have advised that as we were not delayed by more than 4 hours we are not entitled to compensation and I am confused about the guidance, there are references to compensation being due if you are not offered a suitable alternative and your rescheduled flight departs more than one hour before scheduled departure.
This obviously caused us significant disruption but does this apply to our case or is only about the delay.
Any guidance appreciated and if you can pin point the detail in the guidance that would be amazing.

Compensation is not eligable as the arrival time was within 4hrs of the original time, under the Air Travel Organisers’ Licensing (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019, we aren’t liable to pay compensation.

What costs did you incur from the cancellation and booking of the other flight?

We paid £2600 for our return flights and they have offered partial reimbursement of that, we will contest that through the CEDR as we have an open case and can prove the amount paid via Credit card statement and they have previously received tickets. So I am pretty confident we will get a significant proportion of that refunded.

In what way did BA offer no support and no alternative? Or do you mean "no convenient for you alternative"?
Why was the flight cancelled?

They sent us a message via the app saying "we're sorry but we have been unable to find a suitable replacement for your upcoming disrupted flight" that was it…. the flight was cancelled due to operational issues there is no dispute on that.
