ISA partial transfer?

I have an ISA with trading 212, opened in Feb 2026 into which I transferred all my savings from Moneybox, which included the 20000 paid in from 25/26 allowance. Stupidly I didn’t realise that only the 20000 would get the promo rate of 4.4% and the rest is only getting 3.6%.

Is it possible to only transfer the balance on the lower rate into a new ISA with someone else leaving last years money with T212 or would I have to transfer out the lot?

I did try asking T212 but the bot didn’t understand the question and I can’t find an answer in their FAQs.

Secondly, the amount of savings on the lower rate is treble that on the higher rate so I presume worth doing if only to get 4.5% elsewhere?

It is possible to transfer out only prior year contributions, leaving behind current year money. Whether T212 will action such a request is a matter for them, as they are not required to support partial transfers of this nature. You will also need to find a new provider whose transfer process allows for this type of transfer. That should not be too hard.

Definitely worthwhile. Definitely possible to do with some providers. I find that with some ISA transfers the questions aren’t very clear and I’m not confident they will do exactly what I want. Lloyds procedure is very clear - you would say no you don’t want to transfer in this year’s money, yes you do want to transfer in money from previous years, and tell them the amount to transfer. Moneybox is also excellent for transfers but you can’t go back to them!
