If all of the above conditions are met, the offer will be paid directly
into your account within 14 working days of your switch starting and
will appear as a cash credit.

Interesting that it's not from completion.

Maybe not getting it until after completion, but that's not what it says. It could be before.

14 working days days from start could be day 1 to 6, all of which would be before completion. But they would all be after the point of no return, as once the 7 days of the switch begin it can't be stopped.

I don't understand, sorry. If I start my switch today so today is day 1 of my switch, 14 working days from start (i.e. today) can also be day 1? 🤔

From what I remember with some Lloyds switches in the past people have been paid before the actual switch has completed.
Day 1 was the date they filled out the form to switch, even if they put the actual switch date a few weeks from that date.

I see what you're saying, but what you refer to as day 1 above is the date you instructed Lloyds of the date you wanted the switch to start on. The switch hadn't actually started on this date.

I haven't applied for this BoS account yet, so I don't know if it gives a choice of start dates or how far ahead it allows your start date to be. But the conditions of the offer are that you start your switch by 29th June.

So if I open my account today and instruct BoS to start my switch on 29th June (assuming they allow it to start so far into the future), day 1 of the switch is 29th June, not today.

You're not reading my post in context. The reference to 14 days is the context of being paid the incentive 'within' 14 days of switch starting. A switch takes 7 days from actual start (which is 7 days before actual completion). So if payment is within 14 days of start it can happen before completion. As completion is 7 days after start.

Days 1 to 6 after start are before completion. And they are very definitely within 14 days after start, so incentives can be paid before completion.

The only reason I was posting was to correct your statement that instead of saying 'within 14 days of start' they could "also say within 7 working days of switch completion. Whatever way they say it, you're not getting your switching cash until after it completes"

That's not the case. As within 14 days of start could well be some days before completion.

Thank you Zanderman, I now understand what you're saying. Yes, completion date can be within 14 days of start date. I have removed my earlier post so as not to cause confusion.

Lloyds/ Halifax have in the past treated Day 1 as the date you agree to the switch even if you have put in and advance date. I could switch agree to the switch on the 1st June but put a date of 22nd June for it to be completed. Day 1 would still be the 1st of June, this allows people to be paid before that actual switch takes place. EG this post Quote

That's later than it used to be.  In previous switches to Lloyds and
Halifax I've always had the bonus before the switch has completed.

As this seems to be the first BoS, it remains to be seen of how they do it.

HillStreetBlues, I think we're starting to get a bit off topic, but day 1 as you state above is the date you agree to switch (1st June), actual switch start date is still approx 12th June. Before 12th June there is no switch, just an agreement that you will switch. Switches take 7 working days. Day 1 of the switch can't be 1st June as then there would be 3 weeks between day 1 (1st June) and completion (22nd June).

It can be, it depends on how the actual bank terms it, their view can be different in how the switching service terms it, as they are two different entities.
I start the switching process on the date I instruct the bank, that is my start date, the switching service might start after that date.
