Right am resurrecting my original thread which seem to stop in 2008 (apart from a post from InaPickle earlier this year)

As you will see from my totals they bear no resemblance to my original ones. Re-mortgaged at the beginning of the year and consolidated the reserve with the mortgage. Have managed to pay off more this way- and also have reasonable amount of savings. We are not in a dire position financially but things could still be better. With two kids at Uni budgeting is essential!

According to my thread I was having a good time losing weight - must get back in the zone for that one.

The time since stopping posting on here has been quite hard emotionally - cumulating in my mum dying from Motor Neuron Disease in February. My sister lives 3000miles away and my brother has MS so a lot of the sorting has been down to me, which has been hard in lots of ways. I've reached rock bottom a couple of times but have to try and keep smiling for everyone.

Anyway enough wallowing - I am determined to try and succeed in loosing the weight I need to shift, to get on top of accounts and pay the mortgage loans off asap and to be more positive.

    Welcome back! :grouphug:

Though you'll have to ask a board guide to shift this to the "correct" position...

Well I'm having a very strange sort of day - not doing anything in particular but seeming to get a few outstanding things done. Have caught up on outstanding letters, have taken the kids car to the garage ready for servicing and MOT tomorrow (its 20 mins away in completely the wrong direction to anywhere else!), made some cakes, cleaned the chickens out and am know watching Mr Bean with DS before we go to Cambridge meet DH who has been walking SHropshire to see The Magic Numbers. ( of course I have no idea who or what they are so should be interesting!!!)

I have flights to book this week to go and see my sister in Washington DC at Easter but am waiting till Wednesday as that is the day after my credit Card bill comes out so I won't have to pay for it until December - money is actually put aside so I will get an extra 2 months interest (nearly!) on that even if its only a few pence.

I have emailed the OU about restarting my degree - I was 2/3rds of the way through when I gave up (too many years ago to mention really!) but would really like to finish it now. Am actually quite envious of my two and my DH having been away to University and the opportunities they have had which I didn't for one reason or another.

Right well must finish a letter I have started to my friend in Australia - she is flying home tomorrow after 3 weeks here and because of her commitments I only got to see her once - which was lovely and the first time in 17 years that I had seen her.

Thanks Taxi - I just hope they say I can continue where I left off rather than having to start again - think that might put me off.

BTW - love your signature saying
