TRANSFER INTO NATWEST ISA

Can anyone help.

I want to transfer a cash isa into Natwest but I don't have an existing ISA with Natwest. Also I have already maxxed out on new cash ISAs with other providers this year.

From going through the online application process I seem to be drawn into opening a new cash ISA with Natwest, but before I start breaking any ISA rules could someone assure me that this would be perfectly acceptable. Or is it a case of wordings - subscription not opening. Perhaps I should talk to Natwest themselves but I don't like telephone contact because I have a significant hearing impediment.Cora didn't help, can any of you ?

You can open as many cash ISAs as you want, and transfer in as much as you want. The only restriction is that you can not add more than £20K in new money in any one tax year.

You can open as many ISAs as you want, it's only the funding of ISAs with new money that is subject to restrictions.

Open the ISA with NatWest, as part of this process you should be asked if you want to TRANSFER funds from another ISA, that's where you enter details of your transfer candidate.

Assume that the ISA you wish to transfer from will not be subject to any penalties for transferring out.

You have to open a Cash ISA with NatWest or any provider before you can start a transfer. As part of the account opening process you will be asked if you want to transfer a Cash ISA from another provider and follow the process.

    Very speedy responses, thank you.

So - it seems that it's OK to open an ISA, but adding new cash to take you over the £ 20K limit is where the rules get broken. I feel a lot more confident now. Cheers.
