Hi,
Not unexpectedly, our latest Hotpoint washer is about to bite the dust. I am not bothering with a repiar as the machine has been a nightmare from day one.
We are on quite a tight budget (Christmas!)
We are looking at a Bosch Classixx 1400 - £289 with a 2 year warranty which we could extend.
or a Siemens WM14E141 with a 5 year for about £400.
We've looked at the Miele but a bit out of our league atm plus I'm not too keen on the big grey door:o
Anyone have have any opinions preferences on these washers please??

We have had Bosch Classixx SGS53C02 dishwasher for 3 years which has been very reliable and effective, although the quick wash is only for relatively unsoiled items. We have only replaced it because of a built-in kitchen update, and the new Whirlpool dishwasher has a most inconvenient lower compartment headroom which precludes large dinner plates and is not adjustable. (the Bosch had no such problem).
Incedentally, we are selling the Bosch for £60 so if you are interested in it and live anywhere near Surbiton, Surrey let us know.

Hi, I'm sure you'll get a taker for your dishwasher, sadly it's our washing machine that's broken.;)0

Apologies for the misunderstanding, but maybe a Bosch washing machine is as reliable as a dishwasher?

Bosch make some of the most reliable products.Have had our Bosch fridge/freezer for 10 years Bosch washing machine for 5 years and Bosch dishwasher for 4 years never a fault with any of them. They always come near the top of all the "which" reliability surveys Go for BOSCH0

Seimens washing machines are fab. We have a washer-drier - 5 years in it's still going strong!
All of the "white goods" in our (then brand new) flat are Seimens - nothing but praise for all of them!April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200 -
Cheers everyone, I have been told that Bosch and Siemens are the same company and if I get a Bosch, to go for the higher range (cheap Siemens is the same as high end Bosch), does anyone know if this is correct?0

I'd definitely go for the Bosch. They last longer. Paid 445 for mine in September as I wanted an 8kg loader ( I do a lot of washing as theres 5 of us and 3 are aged under 10!!!) and its really good, had a Hoover before that which was nothing but trouble and only lasted a couple of years but before that another Bosch which even though it only took a 5kg load lasted a good 7 years before it gave up on me.loobylou2.Proud to be dealing with my debts and aiming to sort out the mess in 2013!!!!:eek:0

Our Siemens washing machine has a 10 year guarantee, that surely speaks volumes in how they rate the reliability of their own products.Too many children, too little time!!!0
