Travel insurance in light of fuel shortage

we booked flights and our villa separately as my sister needs to fly from Bristol with Ryanair and myself from Gatwick-easyJet

however we are worried - how can we best protect ourselves as we have paid £2000 for a villa if the worst was to happen and we couldn’t get out to the Villa because of cancelled flights- we have currently only paid €500 deposit through bank transfer but the balance is due in a couple of days

I understand credit card/PayPal can offer some protection but not necessarily if the flights cancel and the Villa is still available

We used a booking agent who told us they would do their best to accommodate us, but still we are worried

are there any insurance policies that would cover? I can’t see any online for this particular scenario

any advice welcome 🙏

As mentioned in another similar thread recently, the airlines are legally obliged to get you onto other flights:

However, the MSE link at the start of that thread refers to at least one insurer who is apparently offering cover for this…

Precisely this, if the villa is available, then no breach of contract has occurred and S75/Chargeback or PayPal Protection will not apply.

The media has done a cracking job convincing people there is an issue with fuel.

I read last week that , if necessary, some airlines planned to reduce the number of flights that were usually business use to retain those that would be for holiday use.

The increasing cost of fuel is more likely to affect fares.
