I have looked at that and it says I need 2 x ECOHHR40. I'm not sure what the various things on the spec mean but using deduction and helped by my mate Chaz (surname GPT) I've deduced that it will deliver around 1600w of heat. Our current Consort electric heater is 2kw I think so with just one of these the room will be cooler? And a full charge, seven hours overnight, will use 24.4KWH. It doesn't seem to say how many hours I'll then be able to get 1600w output for based on a 7-hour charge, or whether the full 7 hour is needed. Any ideas? And @tamste , do you charge yours for the full 7 hours?
Edit - ah, so the 24.4 is the 3484w x seven hours of charging and this then can pump out about 15 hours at 1600w?

24.4 kWh in = 24.4 kWh out - so if ran for 24 hours - just over 1kW on average - without using the balance element.
But the whole point about the HHR is it retains the heat - and delivers it when you want it - not "continuously"
So could deliver the output - 1.6 kW for 24.4/1.6 kW = just over 15 hours.
(But I suspect as core temp dropped their might be some time variation on that output).
Of course with the ECOHHR and Quantums in single wired mode - other tariff options are available - that dont attract the same daytime premium for the full 17 hrs a day.
Cosy is pretty much a modern tilt to the old split 3 way E10 - albeit only 8 hours - so without the same higher prices - as long as can avoid the 4-7pm peak window.
So you could charge the Dimplex for all 8 hours if need be. And run the boost at the day rate.
Or with something like EDF freephase static - the cheap rate for 7 hrs overnight - and the below standard rate - if they stick by their example chart - for the static version for the boost element if required - again as long as avoid any heavy use during the peak window.
And you could - and others have even look at automating for the trackers - like Agile or EDF Freephase dynamic (less winter history for that though)
But those lower off peak and day rates (more so for EDF option if genuinely below SR) might also work for your non NSH options - if the property doesn't loose heat quickly - boost up at off peak early morning - top up at standard afternoon and early evening (especially if Freephase priced as shown) and hope property retains comfort levels for 3 hrs across the peak.

Seven hours of charging followed by seventeen hours of discharing.
24.4 / 17 = 1435 watts continuously.
So two of them will (or could) deliver 2870 watts for 17 hours. That's somewhat more than your current 2kW panel heater.
Or, as you've calculated:

Yes, 15 x 1.6kW = 24kWh. If you fit two, you could have 15 hours at 3kW.
And … do you charge yours for the full 7 hours?
The Quantum storage heaters will take as much charge as they expect to need the following day. They'll only take the full seven hours if they have to; otherwise, they'll take a partial charge.

A limiting factor might be the wiring in the house and the ability to support multiple storage heaters on the existing panel heater circuits.
If extra/upgraded wiring is needed then you will need to consider the route back to the meter and/or consumer units and the practicalities of getting the extra wiring in place.1 -
Don't know if I am saving money as I moved house and had the old 1990's storage heaters replaced as soon as I moved in, so don't know what the bills were like before I changed them.
Regarding comfort, yes the house is very comfortable all year round temperature wise.
I have a combination of Elnur HHR's (main living areas) and SSH's in the bedrooms. The fans on the HHR's are good in the larger areas in respect to distributing the heat, and no noise from the smaller SSH's in the bedrooms.

It just seems like so much to work out and calculate with the various charges and I think I'll need two heaters in the same room to improve the heat but fitting another in is going to be tricky. Lots to think about. Thanks for the advice thus far.

Put one under the window to avoid cold draughts. As always, go for the bigger size if in any doubt, don't penny pinch now and regret it every time there's a cold snap or Beast From the East.

How much did you research which brand to opt for and was there a particular reason you went for Elnur?

Elnur were cheaper and recommended by my installer in respect to customer service. They also appeared to offer similar performance to Dimplex.
Elnur also gave me the retained heat % for both the heater types I looked at (HHR & SSH), whilst Dimplex wouldn't let me have the info for anything other than the HHR.

We have dimplex quantums and I prefer them to GCH. If appropriately sized as ours are they're capable of maintaining 21C from 7am to 10pm with no issues.
