what isn't necessary

i have a samsung phone a3 or a6, i forget which

however i notice i have 144 apps, some i don't use but some may be necessary to function (but i don't know why)

of these, what can be deleted without harm, please

Are you running out of storage or is there another reason for wanting to delete some apps?

If an app is essential for the operation of the phone then you won't be able to delete it.

Some on that list should be fairly self-evident - connect to your car using Android Auto?

Do you use Samsung Cloud or Onedrive for phone backup (or at all)?

Got kids with Samsung phones?

Go to Settings, Device care and follow some of the optimisation tips there.

I like to 'tidy up' my apps from time to time. As above, there are some you don't use but won't be able to uninstall.

I tend to keep just the ones I use regularly and my reasoning is that if I deleted one, and then change my mind at some point in the future, I could always install it again.

Most of the apps you’ve listed are system apps and can’t be deleted.

When looking at the list of apps, make sure you’ve selected the option to hide system apps.

Once you’ve done that, with one or two exceptions , you can delete anything in the list. It won’t cause any harm but you obviously won’t be able to use that app.

However, if it is genuinely an A3 or an A6 then it’s old enough not to work properly on current networks. Also, it stopped receiving security updates years ago. You’ll also find many apps no longer support the older version of Android.

So I would recommend considering replacing it in the next year or so.
