I give up
I've given up so many times with retailers- why do they make it so hard to raise a warranty claim or refund. Is there no law for this?? Thieves

Well there's consumer law.
I'll move your post to the consumer rights board so someone can help you better. Perhaps while you wait you could give some more details about your concerns so they can give specific advice.

Thank you Brie. It just seems that raising a claim is made so difficult by most retailers to the point i give up, so much time has passed since the event or I can't find the right email address. Also finding they trick me into not wanting a refund/return

That's still not exactly specific - do you have an actual issue with an individual retailer, and if so, please give details of who/what, etc…

You really need to explain the situation & what you are looking for. Time line helps.
Consumer rights & warranties are 2 totally different processes.

Thanks, Esk. I've had issues with Curry's for a pod coffee machine I ordered +4 years ago (want to lnow if there's any warranty as I know i paid for something) and I bought some Brooks running shoes which are hurting the sole of my feet (return wanted) around 4 months ago and have a broken phone charger I'm trying to get a replacement for. All different retailers and all making me run around the mill providing the same info multiple times, proofs, more info- I'm starting to lose the plot

As above, you need to distinguish between your consumer rights which are legislative and a warranty which is completely up to the manufacturer/retailer.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I might be at fault here, but i don't buy things looking at warranty. If things go wrong then i expect them to make it simple but it's just not. Might be my fault and keen to hear how other people do this

OK, that sounds like three separate and unrelated issues, which may entail different responses and outcomes.
If you've lost your paperwork relating to an extended warranty with Currys then you might be able to get them to disclose what you have/had if you submit a Subject Access Request?
For shoes that hurt your feet after four months then it sounds like it may be a stretch to establish that they're actually faulty, to the extent of having any consumer rights with the retailer, or is there some sort of warranty there too?
How did a phone charger come to be broken, and in particular, are you asserting that it was faulty when sold? How long ago did you buy it, and from where?

I think it's quite an idealistic view to expect companies to make things simple for you when things go wrong, so it's best to be familiar with your consumer rights and also, where applicable, any warranty over and above those - it's your prerogative to take a relaxed view of due diligence and record-keeping but if you do that then you should be prepared to accept the consequences!
Choice of retailer and/or manufacturer is important, so, for example, reading reviews and threads about Currys would set expectations about their (lack of) customer service reputation…

Very few retailers play by the book when it comes to refunds, there is nearly always a hurdle to jump. Patience and polite persistence are your friends. According to many threads on here, Currys are particularly adept at not knowing Consumer Rights law
