Capitol One took more than amount stated in email

In all my years of holding credit cards no card issuer has ever informed me that they will collect an 'approximate' amount.

I get "we will be collecting the DD" mails from a few providers but there is never any mention of an amount, that is all down to the statement. It is definitely worth a complaint as that mail should never have been sent and has caused confusion and stress,

Re-reading the OP, not clear if the email(s) from Capital One contain references to "approximate" amounts or that it is simply that the OP has chosen to be imprecise in their description.
Be good if @TRider could come back and answer the points made here but it seems that they are as interested in this thread as they are in the contents of their credit card statement (or indeed that it's not spelt Capitol).
