budget phone
I don't know much about phones. I've had a Moto e6s for several years, but the battery now runs down quickly, so I need a replacement. I don't use it much, so I'm on PAYG. Mostly I receive calls, texts and emails, but sometimes I also make calls and texts. Occasionally I use web access when away from home. I almost never use the camera.
Possibilities I've seen so far are Samsung A16 4G and Motorola G35 5G, both at aroung £100. Motorola upgrades are minimal whereas Samsung last for six years.
Specific question: As regards future-proofing, would six years of upgrades or 5G be better?
Wider comments: Are these reasonable choices? Other information or suggestions are welcome.

You can get replacement battery for your mobile for less than £20 if that's the only issue with it.
If you go to HotUKDeals site and have a search for mobiles on there you will see some for under £100 and some feedback on the mobile on offer.
What is your budget?

If it is a choice between those two then take the phone supported with upgrades for longer.

Agreed, go for the A16. Fair bit bigger than the E6 but that's the modern way.
Be worthwhile replacing the battery on that E6s too, seem to be batteries available for less than a tenner. Bit fiddly (see YouTube) but gets you a backup phone.
