Talktalk keep ringing me about cancelling

I only searched on money supermarket for new BB as TT are moving to Utility warehouse and my contract is free to leave if I go before end on May. The thing is I was only searching and never completed any move to a new provider and TT have been phoning me about cancelling and they have now set up a new 18 month contract without my agreement. How can this be right. I am with a fibre 65 contract and it's not fast enough. I don't think I can get FF in my area. I really want to switch but getting fed of TT pestering me when I haven't actually done anything yet. Plus how can they cancel me and recontract me without my consent

What paperwork/email information have they sent regarding the new contract?

Were you past the minimum term of your old one?

Vodafone has let us know that you're thinking of switching broadband providers*. We'd love it if you stayed, but if your mind is made up, we want to make sure you have all the information you need about switching your service and any potential charges during the process. We estimate that your total early termination fee will be £64.72. This amount may change depending on the exact date of your switchover and does not include any charges incurred up to today.

If you’ve already decided to stay with us, or are within the 14-day cooling off period with TalkTalk, the charges above don’t apply. If you have any other questions about them then please call us on 0345 172 0078, before your service ends

You must have got quite far down the line for Vodafone to think you were going to transfer to them, however you haven't so the status quo should apply.

Have you gone through TT's complaints procedure?

I looked at Vodafone to see if they could offer me BB in my area. I didn't complete the process just entered postcode and address.

I haven't raised anything as I had an apology from a cancellation guy on Friday who said it would all be fine now, yet another call this afternoon got me wired up again.

They certainly seem to have jumped the gun then. That's the sort of thing I've done many times, if fact I did that with Vodafone about 6 weeks ago but took it no further. I was beyond my minimum term with my previous provider so they ended up owing me a few quid when I moved.

I have switched to Plusnet. It's making me bad. Only problem is that I switch on 1st June but I need to leave TT before end of the month otherwise I move to Utility warehouse for 18months tied in. So can I leave TT a few days earlier and just go without BB for a couple of days
