@EverythingCounts as I approached 'R-Date' my choices came down to 3; Fidelity, AJ Bell, and Interactive Investors. Things / charges may have changed since my review, and my criteria involved investing in non-OEICs, e.g. ETFs where providers can apply a lower cap. You would need to factor in any transaction and/or FX fees (if applicable) to your consideration.

I like Fidelity (other than they are a US company, bah humbug) but they do not offer Gilts, so this may be a factor / consideration for you. I also liked AJ Bell.

In any case it looks like the OP will just increase their contributions to their workplace pension now.

Yes I’m about to look at lowering the risk by moving the pension to into a different fund, something I want to do soon.

Although I am looking to retire in the next 2 or 3 years, I plan to use drawdown and I’m not sure I’ll need to take the 25% tax free sum any time soon. So my theory is the pot will stay invested for a long while yet to ride out any market volatility, but I do feel that I should lower the risk (a bit as you suggest) as once I’ve got a decent sum I don’t feel I need to risk chasing big returns Maybe bring it down to 60% equities.

And yes sorry this has turned into a pension discussion, although it’s been really useful for me, I did start this thread as an investment app question but we’ve got off topic.

Yes I am in the process of asking my HR dept what I need to do to increase pension contributions.

However the ISA question is still valid as I have some money in other savings that I want to move into an S&S ISA.
