Sharpie is just a proprietary name for a permanent marker. They are good: I used one the other day to mark a tea-towel, it's gone through the wash and is as clear as the ones I didn't need to wash! However, they are blunt instruments, and just a biro may work better on small labels. Or you can get 'proper' pens for marking fabric which will have a finer point than the Sharpie.

Having said that, the Sharpie is hard to miss because you have to write large!

When I had three boys to keep in labels, I ordered a rubber stamp with our surname, and just a 'normal' inkpad. They didn't last forever, and faded with washing, but it was 'good enough'.

I saw the rubber stamp on temu but didn't think they will be able to go through a wash. may be worth looking at it again.

I hate to say it, but some staff just don’t engage their brains.

I used to run a care home one section of which was for four people and they all did laundry with our support on different days to try to avoid everything getting mixed up. Even where clothes were labelled you would still find the tall thin bloke in the trousers belonging to the short chubby bloke flapping halfway up his legs. I used to get very frustrated with the staff some of whom just didn’t seem to notice the bleeding obvious at times.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have not could of.
