We (and apparently you) still don't know some basic information.

Over the past 12 months, how many kilowatt-hours of electricity have you used on your off-peak rate? And how many on your peak rate?

Without this information, we're all just guessing.

I switched to British Gas 2 year fixed, I've already noticed increase on meter for costs- mistake?

From the screenshots, it looks like you've switched to a single-rate tariff (26p/kWh, no mention of an off-peak rate, £1700/yr for 6000kWh). But you seem to think you have an off-peak rate of 16p/kWh (which isn't particularly attractive, as off-peak rates go).

Exactly what are the rates showing on your new tariff?

The usage for year until now is above

So got to get off my current tariff by October as I have a storage heater and consequently high night time electricity usage and current plan is 26p/kW all the time. Either switch to British Gas or another one. BG preferable but depends on price

Other option use oil rad instead of storage heaters but set on timer

Have you plugged your numbers into a comparison site yet? What did it offer you?

That's going to cost you. See the link in my signature block for a comparison of E7 (storage heaters) vs. direct electric heating.

In one bedroom flat with one storage heater -From the screenshots above either 6 months or a year figures for kwh use are-

2933 kwh total use and 1734 off-peak use, what's the best tariff?

Can I have link to comparison site?

As above, MSE have their own:

    https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cheapenergyclub/

Or there are alternatives via (eg. Moneysupermarket, uSwitch), or you can try the cashback sites (Topcashback, Quidco).

So used go compare, rushed and just inputted random kwh figures but made night tariff three times usage than day. It's definitely wrong tariff as it's £42/month with Octopus and I was on £162 /with British Gas.

British Gas text me, sad I was leaving, do I call them and haggle a cheaper deal with might time tariff for my one storage heater?

Take 5 mins, use your actual usage that you posted above, and have a proper look at the results, or there's little point in doing a comparison.

Look at the unit rates too, and not just the "direct debit amount per month".

Are your readings actual or estimated, which might mean some of your current direct debit amount, is based on incorrect figures? Or are you clearing a debt on your account?
