Morning lovelies,
Thank you Valli and Natty.
Apologies for not dipping in for what must be 3 weeks! Have only caught up with this weeks thread so hugs and positive vibes for Round and Ionafan, glad DH is home now.I had resigned myself to only being able to fly and check in at the weekends but that went to pot. 2 w/e ago I got an early call from my brother to say my dad had almost collapsed at home, dizzy light headed nauseous etc, so threw on clothes and went over. We monitored for about an hour or so (DH was a paramedics for 30+ years) and decided A&E was the next step. A lot of waiting around whilst he was monitored and nothing untoward was found so he was asked to return the next day for more tests as unsure if it was cardiac (some changes on ECG) or something else. Saw a consultant the next day for another round of tests and CT scan and bloods to check if he’d had a TIA or blood clot. All were inconclusive so he was sent home to return for an MRI which he had yesterday. He is much better in himself but still has episodes of light headedness which ‘are preventing him from getting stuff done’! He is 89 this year 😆. We have the worst performing hospital in the country but apart from 6 hours both Saturday and Sunday I couldn’t fault their investigations and follow ups.
Last weekend I had both grandchildren for the weekend which was a hoot but totally exhausting.
This week I have been on leave and have been clearing out the attic which was heaving (and filthy) but we now have space (with only half of it sorted) into which we can put things like suitcases, that there wasn’t room for up there before (other than the six I found already up there ☺️). I am trying to convince DD to part with some (or all) of the 217 soft toys that were bundled up there to which she is resisting. They are currently all sat like an audience on the front room floor. We need to order some racking and some sturdy boxes is week to improve it overall.
Yesterday I did some tidying in the yard and washed both cars as it was such a lovely day.
Lots of walking being done as we have a challenge at work and I am currently in first place with 175000 steps so far this month. This will slow down as I am back to work this week but am around 80000 steps ahead at the moment.
Today is overcast and very cold and windy so plan is
- Get the sleeping dogs off my lap (ETA one down of its own accord)
- Shower
- Lidl for plants/trees if they have them as advertised, and food for dinner
- Make space in the freezer for meat bought during the week
- Whole house clean which hopefully will add a significant amount of steps
- Birthday card for DGS
- Making of cake topper
Birds and squirrels are already fed (been watching them while I’m sat here), one cuppa down and a pastry that needed eating as my breakfast.
No excuses now so hope you all have a good day, I will try and pop in later, Kaz xMortgage, paid off!6 -
Good afternoon
I'm having a lazy Sunday. I'll catch up with myself during the week as I'm on Annual Leave.
I woke up at 6 am. Thought nope. Turned over. Woke up: 8.30 am. Must have needed the sleep.
I've made the bed, taken my meds, turned over the calendars, dressed, fed DB's cats, chatted to NN and petted her dog who remembered me from yesterday😍, fed the birds, put out the recycling, given Sassy fresh water and seed and phoned S.
I will clean out Sassy this afternoon. And I'll go and feed the cats again. Apart from that I'm chillaxing.
Rxx

Evening all. Stripped both beds today and got three washloads dry outside. Cold wind. Had a walk this morning, cooked a roast dinner, washed up etc etc and rinse and repeat.
Hope everyone's OK x
