Used car dealer - consumer rights - being very difficult
Comments

When buying a 10 year old vehicle from a dealer extensive due diligence is key. Relying on consumer protection laws against a poor purchase as a fallback isn't advised. Small time car dealers are better at the avoiding the law than most buyers are at enforcing it.

I read that as, possibly, the OP only paid a small deposit by CC, hence the under £100 if initiating chargeback but the CC is now jointly and severally liable for the full value of the purchase so need to consider whether the criteria for S75 are triggered.
I may be entirely incorrect in how I have interpreted the comment.

update - had the car towed back to my property as dealer sent letter response refusing refund.
said I declined repair (incorrect - I declined to pay to have the vehicle towed to his chosen garage for repair).
AA mediation can’t assist due to ongoing S75 with bank. No update from S75 so still stuck with a car I cannot drive..0 -
S75 will take as long as it takes. No fixed timelines.
