Used car dealer - consumer rights - being very difficult

I have now, yes. I sent a first one detailing a complaint which he just disregarded so then I spoke to Citizens Advice consumer line who advised I had to stare I am rejecting it under the consumer rights act etc which I sent via email and also recorded delivery. I gave him 7 days for response but I am certain he will not respond as he has continued to deflect away from any responsibility and just keeps telling me it my responsibility, not his.

Owning a VAT registered company I am fully aware of how VAT works but thanks for stating the obvious.

The car is currently not on the road as it can’t even be started. It’s just sat at a garage I had it towed too. Should I just get the vehicle towed back to the dealer? Can I just leave it there legally? As he hasn’t accepted liability so could he just cause me more problems?
I have informed the dealer where the car is located and advised the garage have the keys but he is saying the car is my responsibility. Actually he keeps referring to his offers of repair as a ‘gesture of goodwill’ not that actually he is required to by law. However I have been told not to accept the repair as I don’t have to due to him already taking the car back on two occasions and investigating the fault. Plus repairs made on already 4 other issues.
Chase bank are investigating for a sec 75 as charge back is under £100.

That's just a repost of what you posted three days ago?

yes sorry I’m new to this and not quite grasping it!
so my car is still sat abandoned at the repair garage I had it towed to. I have sent a recorded letter of reject to the dealer and he has until Wednesday this week to respond. I have told him where the car is with keys etc.So I guess I just wait?

Well what you wrote was wrong.

You said "not a lot of mechanics earn over £90k", but what they earn is irrelevant, the VAT threshold applies based on turnover. Most mechanics are over the VAT threshold because whilst they might earn less than £90k the turnover vastly more because of the cost of parts.

Yes, if you've given the dealer an ultimatum then you'd need to wait until that deadline is reached, and then, assuming no satisfactory resolution at that stage, proceed with whatever action you said you'd take, presumably small claims?

Hope the garage where it is now sat is not charging a daily storage fee, while it is being sorted.

? Chargebacks have no monetary limits, unlike S75
