Spring has sprung and summer is just around the corner. There's sunscreen on shop shelves and suitcases ready to be dusted off.

Sorted a summer getaway? Holding off for a last minute deal? Giving it a miss this year?

Vote in the poll and share your thoughts in the thread.

Poorly phased question…..I think the question is to wide. We haven't booked a holiday abroad yet because of the Iran/USA war and the problem with flights, cancellations, surcharges and all the other unknowns. It doesn't mean we won't have a holiday, we may just stay in the UK as there are lots of fantastic places to visit. The situation is far from certain and events can change at short notice.

I'm not going on holiday. I will however be going for lots of days out.

Too expensive during the summer, local or abroad. I'd rather travel in October/November or April/May, post-Easter holidays. Anything outside the seasons!

We are going on a 2 week cruise tomorrow, booked last June as it is a special event cruise.

We are getting a new drive and front garden. The contractor has said the work will be carried out July / August. As soon as he can confirm a fixed date, about 8-10 weeks prior, we will be booking another cruise. That will be a last minute booking, but not due to any concerns, just for practical reasons.

I may be naive, but I am not concerned in the slightest about a shortage of jet fuel. My understanding is that we are not totally reliant on the Middle East for fuel, as it is also sourced elsewhere. We also have several refineries in the UK that produce jet fuel.

I don't go away in summer. Too hot , too busy, too expensive both home or abroad.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

cannot be bothered with all the palarver at airports these days, so I didn’t renew my passport when it ran out

Lots of lovely places in Britain if I fancy a holiday

I don’t go away in the summer. It’s the only time there’s a chance of some nice weather at home - why waste that? I go for some winter sun in January.

I'm spending the whole Summer in my beautiful UK back garden with a few day trips out with babyface Daxie to the seaside 🤗. I do this every year and every year we just love it. Personally, I've done enough travelling abroad to last me more than a lifetime, so the inspiration to escape into the madness of huge airport queues & antics, doesn't appeal 😂🤣. I am contemplating spending a couple of months off season / peak in stunning, beautiful Scotland towards either the end of the year or the beginning of next and naturally, the Daxie comes too! 😍🤩🤗.

Booked and paid for Eurotunnel and accommodation, the only thing we haven't paid for is the fuel (although that's part of the travel budget we've saved up). I usually book the travel insurance once I've got our travel dates, and then I book the travel after I've got the insurance.
