HSBC issues with transferring in ISA
I have opened the new HSBC Fixed Rate Cash ISA and asked to transfer in my Nationwide Cash ISA. For some unknown reason, HSBC haven't been able to transfer this yet and don't know why. I pointed out the 15-day window has passed and complained.
Please note that Nationwide confirmed they did receive the transfer request but it is up to HSBC to proceed with the final steps of the transfer.
When I complained, HSBC said someone would call me back to discuss it. No one called.
This is why I decided to close the HSBC ISA account I have just opened as I can't deal with their incompetence anymore. Even when I had the Loyalty ISA with them last year, I had to complain to get it transferred to another provider as they were delaying it.
Has someone else had the same experience with them?

You are in good company. There is already a long thread about it:

Yes, plenty of others have experienced similar, as discussed on multiple threads on the ISA board.

I visited my local branch and one of their staff kindly (fingers crossed) processed my transfer.
My existing YBS ISA doesn't mature until tomorrow so we'll see, I've received some bumph from HSBC so I'm hopeful.
At least I can pop into branch if need be.

Yep me too. HSBC clearly have issues and communication is so difficult, if I hear one more "dont worry" fob off from their front end staff for instance 🤬 No communication from them to me and now I ve got one of their tiers for incentive sorted using a combination of almost daily phone calls to them and previous provider and back to them again plus some of this years ISA allowance which i didnt want to use, I have no confidence whatsoever that the other transfers will take place after 22 working days at all now I ve stopped the phone calls but at least i will now get a well earned incentive 😁 Never again for me to go with HSBC thats for sure

Experiencing the exact same thing. They were meant to transfer in Maturity (22/04/26). They didn’t. Lloyds advised me that the transfer happened on 29/04/26. As of 8/05 2026 still not happened. My ISA has disappeared. Told 30 working days from receipt. I corrected them as it’s 15. Now saying it’s in progress. Told many times to give it 48 hrs. I have made a complaint….No response.
I am now going to close my 3 accounts that I currently have with them. Won’t get the incentive as they are clearly deliberately delaying it beyond that date.
