MSE car insurance comparison tool won't accept driving licence number
When adding my partner's driving licence details the text box won't let me input the last 2 letters (not the last 2 numbers, I know about that!) and then tells me the number is too short with only 14 characters instead of 16.
Never had this issue before, help!

I have problems with this part of form too.
I guess you know that you have to enter the 4 chunks separately?
This year (2026) there was a new problem. My partner uses both her maiden Japanese surname & my surname for most UK things. Her UK driving licence came from her Japanese licence so has her Japanese surname. Starting this year the Surname must match the 5 letters in the 2nd chunk of the licence number.
(The error is unhelpful!)
